KOKOMO, Ind.—Indiana University students, staff, and faculty can “Get With IT” to learn about information technology resources, innovations, and support tools at “Making IT Happen”—an annual technology fair held on IU campuses statewide. The IU Kokomo “Making IT Happen” Fair is planned Wednesday, March 2, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. in Alumni Hall. Visitors can see demonstrations and student showcases, and get information on tech-related opportunities, products, and services. Refreshments and giveaways cap off the fun-filled event-making it a place where techies and the confessed technologically challenged can come together to learn something new. “ 'Making IT Happen!' celebrates the varied and consistent richness of IU's technology landscape, and we're encouraging students to use this opportunity to become more aware of the resources available on their home campus and throughout the University,” said Garland Elmore, associate vice president for teaching and learning information technologies. “We are especially pleased to have students showcase how information technology plays a part in their own academic projects.” “Making IT Happen!” is hosted by University Information Technology Services (UITS) and is sponsored by Apple®, CDWG, Cingular®, Dell™, Gateway®, HP, Kiva Networking, Macromedia®, Microsoft®, Sony®, and Verizon, as well as local sponsors at each campus. Approximately 100,000 students benefit from IU's information technology resources that complement and enhance their academic work, Elmore said. For more information, visit http://it.iu.edu/.
