Ancient myths re-enacted in Metamorphoses

KOKOMO, Ind.—Christopher Staines of Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) will offer a one-man show, Metamorphoses, on Tuesday, February 28, at Indiana University Kokomo. Free and open to the public, the performance will run 3–4 p.m. in Room 150 of the Main Building.

Meaning “changing shapes,” Metamorphoses presents the Roman poet Ovid’s stories of ancient gods, goddesses, and the humans they manipulate. British Poet Laureate Ted Hughes translated Ovid’s verses for this modern script acclaimed for its power and edgy passion.

Persons without campus parking passes should follow the signs for special event parking for Metamorphoses.

Staines’ performance is part of a week of workshops and class visits at IU Kokomo by the five-member Actors From The London Stage Shakespeare troupe. The actors will present The Merchant of Venice Saturday, March 4, at 8 p.m. in Havens Auditorium. For ticket information, call (765) 455-9258.
