Graduate students eligible to apply for Cooke scholarship

KOKOMO, Ind. – Indiana University Kokomo seniors and alumni who have graduated since spring 2004 may compete for graduate scholarships of up to $300,000 through the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.
The Foundation will award the graduate scholarships in early summer 2009 for use during the 2009-2010 academic year, and will renew each award in subsequent years based on performance. Last year, the Foundation awarded 35 scholarships, which were selected by a panel of national experts.

The Foundation receives approximately 1,000 applications for these scholarships each year, and has awarded 355 scholarships and given out $34 million to-date.
The Foundation is a private, independent establishment founded in 2000 by the estate of Jack Kent Cooke to help young people of exceptional promise to reach their full potential through education. It focuses in particular on individuals with financial need.
Indiana University Kokomo serves a seven county, primary service area in north central Indiana, bringing quality education to area residents. The campus offers more than 40 academic programs including four graduate degrees.
