February 2, 2009

Kokomo, Indiana – Now that spring semester is in full swing, the Indiana University Kokomo campus remains on good footing with growth in many academic areas, particularly graduate programs, as it starts off the New Year.

Graduate student enrollment is up 15 percent, with a specific interest in the Master’s in Public Management and Master of Business Administration. Several other programs on campus are experiencing growth, including the School of Nursing and in secondary education.

“I am pleased to report that the state of the campus is good. By many measures, it is very good,” said Interim Chancellor Stuart Green, during the State of the Campus address at the Spring Convocation on campus Friday. “The campus is being looked to as a regional leader and asked to assist the region in mapping its future direction.”

IU Kokomo has increased degree programs to serve the region in education, fine arts, informatics and public affairs. In addition, a needs-based financial aid fund of $30,000 has been established.

Green commended faculty who “continue to make valuable scholarly and creative contributions, as well as engaging in meaningful ways in the life of our region.”

Indiana University Kokomo serves a seven county, primary service area in north central Indiana. The campus offers more than 40 academic programs including four graduate degrees.
