Kinsella appointed to 2003 Leadership Kokomo program

KOKOMO, Ind.—Director of Annual Giving Susan Kinsella will represent IU Kokomo in the 2003 Leadership Kokomo (LK) program, sponsored by the Howard County Chamber of Commerce. Participants attend classes from January through December, learning about local government practices and practicing personal skills such as communication. “Leadership Kokomo helps to groom the future leaders of Kokomo,” said past participant Julie Chism Diesman, coordinator of internships for the IU Kokomo Office of Career Services. “It is both a ‘show and tell’ and leadership development program. The goal of LK is to have class participants become more involved with and informed about their community,” she said. Leadership Kokomo is in its 22nd year; 30 students will be invited to participate in 2003. Each year, IU Kokomo sponsors one person to go through the program. Kinsella joined the IU Kokomo Office of External Relations in June.
