Calling all IU alumni in Cass County
January 28, 2004 | |||||

KOKOMO, IN—The 1,181 Indiana University alumni living in Cass County can get active in alumni events by contacting Christina Wedekind-Albaugh of Galveston. She has agree to serve as Cass County representative to the IU Kokomo Alumni Association (IUKAA) board. Any person who attended any Indiana University campus is considered an alumnus and is eligible to become a member of the association. All alumni are welcome at IUKAA and Cass County IU Alumni Club functions, Wedekind-Albaugh said. She is especially looking for participants from among the more than 500 county residents who, like her, have earned degrees through IU Kokomo. Interested parties can contact her at (574) 859-4552 or by e-mail at christinaalbaugh@yahoo.com. “I want to help alumni meet each other, network, and share our common IU bond,” she said. She’ll also help coordinate an August party on the Kokomo campus, celebrating the 150th birthday of the IU Alumni Association. Wedekind-Albaugh likes keeping busy. She works with her husband, Scott Albaugh, on the family farm and is a consultant for Longaberger® and Creative Memories®. They have a young foster son, Gregory. She is also president of the Logansport Business and Professional Women, a hospice volunteer, and an active member in Cass County 4-H and Upper Deer Creek Church of Galveston. Having earned an associate of general studies degree at IU Kokomo in 2002, Wedekind-Albaugh is now working toward a bachelor’s degree in general studies in May. “I will never be done with school,” she vows. “There are always things to learn.”
