Explore career ‘OPTIONS’ February 2
January 19, 2006
KOKOMO, Ind.—Learn more about employment, education, and military service opportunities for your future at the Cass County OPTIONS Fair, February 2, from 4–6 p.m. at the Walton-Tipton Township Library, on U.S. 35 in Walton.
Participants can talk with representatives from the three career tracts. They can also attend free seminars on building or updating resumes, polishing job interview skills, or learning how to use the state-funded WorkOne CS3 job skills matching system. Open to all area residents, the OPTIONS Fair is intended to prepare participants for an April 13 job fair at the Logansport Mall, said project coordinator Pamela Isaac.
The OPTIONS fair is a joint project of Indiana University Kokomo’s Offices of Career Services, Admissions, and Scholarships and Financial Aid, working with Ivy Tech Community College and JobWorks, Inc.
Manager of Career Services Julie Diesman said the acronym “OPTIONS” stands for:
Opportunities
Progress
Training
Information
Outcomes
kNowledge
Success
“We hope that the persons who attend the OPTIONS Fair will be better able to market themselves for available positions at the April job fair,” said Diesman.
