IU Kokomo honors employee service

35-year award recipients Stuart Green, F. Rick Steldt, and Allen Safianow, with special honoree Susanne Ridlen

KOKOMO, Ind.—During its January 26 Spring Convocation, Indiana University Kokomo recognized 31 employees reaching career benchmarks with the campus. Honorees include three faculty members with the School of Arts and Sciences, each celebrating their 35th year with IU Kokomo.

They are Professor of History Allen Safianow, Ph.D.; Associate Professor of Physics F. Rick Steldt, Ph.D., and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Stuart Green, who also teaches as an associate professor of fine arts.

Green offered a special tribute to Lecturer in Folklore Susanne Ridlen, who will retire in May after 38 years with the IU Kokomo faculty. Green praised Ridlen’s teaching skills, her friendly spirit with colleagues, and her service in several programs aimed at student success and retention.
