Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to be Honored in Kresge Auditorium at IU Kokomo

Kokomo, Indiana—Sunday, January 27 at 3:00 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium at Indiana University Kokomo, the public is invited to a program honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for his achievements. Sponsored by Omicron Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Indiana University Kokomo, the theme of this program is “Dream On…Break Through”.

Todd Bradley, Ph.D., assistant professor of political science at IU Kokomo will be Master of Ceremonies, and Terri Jett, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of political science at Butler University, will be giving the keynote address. Chris Washington will be on the piano, and the Second Missionary Baptist Church Drill team will post colors. The program will feature a presentation by the Everlasting Dominion Fellowship, interpretive dance by His Splendor of the Naoj Llessur School of Religious Dance to the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing”, and inspirational vocal selections by Cherresa Lawson. The program is free and the public is encouraged to attend and take part in honoring Dr. King and his legacy.
