Dean Niranjan Pati is Distinguished Hoosier

The office of Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels has awarded IU Kokomo Dean of the School of Business, Niranjan Pati, Ph. D., the Distinguished Hoosier Award, which is given to Indiana residents who have excelled in their fields. Pati, who received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, has been Dean of the School of Business since 2002. Pati previously was at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and served there as chairperson for the Department of Management.

Pati holds a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in industrial engineering and management services from Northwestern University, a master’s degree in industrial engineering and operations research from the Indian Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in production engineering from Ranchi University in India where he was a National Scholar. Pati has been published in numerous professional journals and has given dozens of national and international conference presentations.

Before starting his career in education, Pati was in the business sector as a project manager for National Aluminum Company in India and was a junior executive trainee for India’s Heavy Engineering Corporation.
