Indiana University Kokomo to ‘Pack the Bus’ for annual Statehouse visit

Kokomo, Indiana – Students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Indiana University Kokomo plan to “Pack the Bus” for the annual Statehouse visit to network with legislators and seek their continued support of higher education in Indiana.
The Hoosiers for Higher Education (HHE) Statehouse Visit Day is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2009. The HHE Statehouse Visit Day brings together students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends from both IU and Purdue to connect with legislators.
This year, in addition to the traditional Statehouse Visit Day, IU and Purdue are joining forces to present the Indiana Innovation Alliance Day as well. The intent is to show the collaborative spirit in support of the Indiana Innovation Alliance.
The bus will leave IU Kokomo at 10:45 a.m. and return immediately following the HHE reception at approximately 6:30 p.m. A box lunch will be provided for participants riding the bus.
The agenda is as follows:
*12 to 1 p.m. Registration in the Statehouse Rotunda
* 1 p.m. IU President Michael McRobbie and Purdue President France Cordova
*2 to 3:30 p.m. Personal visits with legislators
*3:30 to 5 p.m. Reception at the Indiana Roof Ballroom
