IU Kokomo faculty complete doctoral studies

KOKOMO, Ind.—In the past half year, three IU Kokomo faculty members have earned doctoral degrees. In May, Assistant Professor of e-Business Dmitriy Chulkov, Ph.D., successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Purdue University Krannert Graduate School of Management. His dissertation was titled “Economic Studies in Project Escalation and Project Selection.” For his work, Chulkov received Purdue’s Robert W. Johnson Award for Distinguished Research Proposal. Assistant Professor of Economics Luba Habodaszova, Ph.D., completed her doctoral studies in December 2003, when she defended her dissertation, “Corruption and the Size of Government” for the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University's Bloomington campus. Assistant Professor of Nursing Debra Fawcett, Ph.D., earned her doctorate in nursing research from the University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing in November 2003. Indiana University Hospital and Hill-Rom Corporation donated the pressure-reducing surfaces that Fawcett used in researching her dissertation, “A Comparison of Three Pressure-Reducing Surfaces in the Operating Room.”
