Still time to register for fall classes at IU Kokomo

July 14, 2005

KOKOMO, Ind.—Fall semester classes at Indiana University Kokomo start Monday, August 22. Thanks to online registration, accepted and returning students can enroll in classes anytime up to Sunday, August 21.

“There's still plenty of time to enroll for fall, although class availability is at its best now,” said Registrar Holly Hamilton. If students have met with their advisor and know which classes they want to take, and if there are no conflicts between their desired class times, students can usually registered for classes “in a matter of minutes,” she said.

To register online and to view the Schedule of Classes, visit the IU Onestart® Web portal (www.onestart.iu.edu) Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m.–10:30 p.m., or Sundays, 10:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m. Follow the “Register/Fall 2005 Registration” links.

People without Internet access at home can enroll using the computers on campus in either the IU Kokomo Library's Information Commons or the Office of the Registrar, Kelley Student Center, Room 208. “Registrar staff are available to assist you in the registration process Mondays, Thursdays, and Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.,” Hamilton said.

Before enrolling in classes, you must take three steps:

o Be admitted.

o Meet with an academic advisor, for help in choosing courses that fulfill requirements toward a degree.

o Set up an ADS (Active Directory Services) account, which gives you access to campus computers, e-mail, and other technology resources. (To do so, visit http://itaccounts.iu.edu or come to Main Building, Room 057.)

For additional registration information, visit www.iuk.edu/registrar, e-mail koregis@iuk.edu, or call (765) 455-9391.

New Student Orientation Days

Campus orientation and registration days for newly admitted students are planned August 9 and 11. Advisors, administrators, and veteran students are available throughout these days to smooth first-time students' transition to college life, and to answer their questions and those of their parents. For more information on Orientation Days, call University Division, (765) 455-9309.
