IU Alumni bus heads from Kokomo to State Fair

KOKOMO, Ind.—Join the sea of cream and crimson at the Indiana State Fair on IU Day, August 10. Area IU Alumni and their guests can skip the hassle of driving and enjoy round-trip bus transportation that day from Indiana University Kokomo to Indianapolis.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-years-old and under. The price includes admission to the Indiana State Fair.
“We’ll board the bus at 12:30 p.m., so that our guests can enjoy a full afternoon of great fair activities,” said IU Kokomo Director of Alumni Relations Cathy Hightower. “There will be theatre performances by IU Kokomo students, IU exhibits and pep rallies, and acts from the Jacobs School of Music. Our bus will depart around 7 p.m., after the State Fair parade, which will honor IU as parade marshal.”

“Can’t join us on the bus on August 10? Then, be sure to visit the Indiana State Fair sometime between August 9 and 20, to see the exhibits and performances along the fairgrounds IU Boulevard,” Hightower said. IU Kokomo students will present Tom Stoppard’s The 15-Minute Hamlet at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on August 10 on the Minstrel Stage. On August 19, the IUK Singers will present madrigal tunes on IU Boulevard at 2 and 3 p.m. The campus will host a booth at the fair August 9 and 10. IT will highlight water quality research conducted by Associate Professor of Biology Christian Chauret, Ph.D.
