IU Kokomo Golf Outing will feature sportscaster Don Fischer

KOKOMO, Ind.—Sportscaster Don Fischer will speak at an awards dinner, following the IU Kokomo Golf Outing at Kokomo Country Club on July 14. Fischer has announced IU basketball for 31 years; he also hosts The Mike Davis Show, a weekly televised interview with Davis, IU’s head men’s basketball coach. Players can register as a foursome or individually for the 18-hole tournament. Individuals will be assigned to teams. Prizes will be presented to the five top teams, as well as for longest drive, closest to the pin, and two holes-in-one. The $150-per-player ticket price includes lunch, use of a golf cart, a team photo, refreshments on the course, doorprizes, and the awards dinner after play ($100 is tax deductible). Proceeds from last year’s outing supported a scholarship given to Melissa Guzman, an elementary education major from Galveston.
