  Honors Program admits five area graduates

KOKOMO, Ind.—Indiana University Kokomo has presented $500 Honors Program Scholarships to five recent graduates of area high schools, and admitted them to the university’s Honors Program for the 2003–2004 academic year.

“Each will have an opportunity in their first year at IU Kokomo to work one-on-one with a professor in their major or other area of special interest,” said Robert Strikwerda, Ph.D., director of the Honors Program. “Most of them have also received other scholarships for use at the campus.”

New Honors Program students include:

Laura Fincher, Converse, a graduate of Eastern High School in Greentown. She will major in biology.

Elizabeth Funk, Galveston, a graduate of Lewis Cass High School in Walton. She will major in nursing.

Danielle Garber, Twelve Mile, a graduate of Caston High School in Fulton. She will major in social and behavioral sciences.

Laura Helder, Kokomo, a graduate of Kokomo High School. She will major in radiography.

Eric Homkes, Russiaville, a graduate of Western High School in Russiaville. He will major in nursing.
