Trustees hear new student President John Vieke

KOKOMO, Ind.—In one of his first duties as newly elected president of the Indiana University Kokomo Student Government Association, John Vieke addressed the Trustees of Indiana University on June 9. Vieke described recent community service projects completed by the student body and projects that he hopes to promote to encourage students in healthy lifestyle choices.
The university’s nine-member governing board, along with IU President Adam Herbert and other top IU administrators, met on the IU Kokomo campus June 8 and 9.
Vieke is a criminal justice major who formerly served as a Student Government Association (SGA) senator. Others recently appointed to new SGA terms for the 2006–2007 academic year include
• Vice President Chad Andrews, English major from Sharpsville
• Vice President of Programming Michael Glassburn, communication arts major from Elwood
• Vice President of Athletics Sara Robison, general studies major from Kokomo
• Senators Kyle Etherington, history/political science major from Kokomo; Shane Mullins, public affairs major from Windfall; Chris Wert, criminal justice major from Jonesboro; and Lindsey Winslow, communication arts major from Burlington
Two previously elected student senators will finish out terms in 2006–2007. They are Jeanie Savage, criminal justice major from Tipton, and Erik Homkes, nursing major from Russiaville.
