IU raises profile at Indiana Black Expo exhibiton

KOKOMO, Ind.—Visitors to this year’s Indiana Black Expo, Inc. Summer Celebration will see Indiana University’s stamp on these public events at the Expo’s Cultural Art Exhibition in the Indianapolis Convention Center:

• “I Am IU”
Thursday, July 13, 5–8 p.m.

This recruitment event will explore black student life at IU and promote academic programs offered at all university campuses, including IU Kokomo.

• Kid’s World
Friday–Sunday, July 14–16, noon–7 p.m.

Children ages 12 and younger can enjoy a bounce house; giant slide; entertainment stage, and Radio Disney, sponsored in part by IU.

• Indiana University Day
Sunday, July 16, noon–8 p.m.

IU activities and attractions will be spotlighted on the final day of the celebration. IU Kokomo volunteers will staff the booth on July 16.

Running July 6–16, Summer Celebration also includes sporting events, arts performances, and business seminars. Since its founding in 1970, Indiana Black Expo, Inc. been an effective voice and vehicle for the social and economic advancement of African-Americans in the state, while celebrating cultural diversity and inclusiveness across all races and ethnicities.
