KOKOMO, Ind.—Meet aspiring young artists Friday, June 8, during the opening reception for the 12th annual High School Art Exhibition at the Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery. Seniors from Eastern, Kokomo, Marion, Peru, and Western high schools have submitted art for the show, which runs through June 30.

During the 4–6 p.m. reception, monetary awards will be presented to the top artists. Dr. John Ladd of Ladd Dental Group, Kokomo, has underwritten the awards in recent years.

The 2007 High School Art Exhibition contains dozens of works, in media ranging from painting, collage, and photography to sculpture, ceramics, and stained glass.

Admission to the reception and the exhibition is free. Gallery hours are Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.; Wednesdays, until 8 p.m.; Saturdays, noon–4 p.m.; and Sundays, 1–5 p.m. Call (765) 455-9523 or visit www.iuk.edu/gallery for more information.
