Baseball coach Tracy Smith joins IU Golf Outing
June 1, 2007
KOKOMO, Ind.—It will be a battle of the coaches at Kokomo’s Chippendale Golf Course on Wednesday, June 6. Indiana University head baseball coach Tracy Smith has signed up to play in that day’s IU Alumni Golf Outing, sponsored by the IU Kokomo Alumni Association and the Howard/Tipton Counties Chapter of the IU Alumni Association.
Smith will face some stiff, but friendly, competition from Clint Wallman, coach of the IU women’s golf team. One of Coach Wallman’s current players, Amber Lindgren, and a future teammate, Lauren Giesecke, will also participate in the outing. Both young women are from Kokomo.
Wallman will present a pre-tourney golf clinic, beginning at noon. Registration and lunch are available starting at 11 a.m., and the shotgun start is scheduled at 1 p.m.
Entry fees are $50 for IU Alumni Association members and $65 for non-members. The fee covers 18 holes of golf, golf cart, team photo, prizes, a box lunch, and two beverage tickets. Players can sign up as a foursome or individually.
For registration and sponsor information, contact the IU Kokomo Office of Alumni Relations at (765) 455-9413. Proceeds of the outing will benefit Alumni Association student scholarships.
