KOKOMO, Ind.—See demonstrations of IU’s and IU Kokomo’s information technology (IT) resources, tools and services during the annual Making IT Happen fair for students Wednesday, April 7. Running 10 a.m.–4p.m. in Alumni Hall, Making IT Happen is free and open to the campus. “There will be giveaways, free drinks and snacks, cool demos and much more,” said Lisa Schunk, director for Student Computer Services. “Mike Boyles and Jeff Rogers from the Advanced Visualization Laboratory (AVL) at IUPUI will be demonstrating a John-e-Box large-format stereo display. Used for a variety of research, education and creative activities at IU, the John-e-Box was developed by the AVL in conjunction with IUB’s Department of Chemistry.” Personnel from the campus’ IT department will be available to assist students with the wireless configuration for laptops, and information about Oncourse. Student ADS accounts staff will help students with password resets and IU e-mail account creation. Students can also learn about the IU Knowledge Base, CyberSecurity, OneStart, Digital Media Services and Data Management Services. Other IU Kokomo fair participants include the Library, School of Business, Center for Teaching Excellence and the Computer Information Systems degree program. IU Kokomo Chancellor Ruth Person and the vice chancellors will have an area set aside for coffee and conversation with students.
