Comedian Clay Ratliff promises laugh riot at IU Kokomo
March 29, 2004 | |||||
KOKOMO, Ind.—Come to IU Kokomo to laugh on Monday, April 19, when comedian Clay Ratliff performs at 6 p.m.
Ratliff has performed across the country and has won several awards for his comedy routines, including being a finalist in the Showtime Television Comedy Showcase and the NBC Television Comedy Talent Search. (For more information, see his Web site, http://www.clayratliff.com ). The self-proclaimed “funniest man in his trailer park,” Ratliff developed his unique point of view growing up in north central Texas during the 1960s era of free love, drugs, and rock-and-roll. His observations about small town life, his adventures as an Army paratrooper, and his time as an undersized white football player for a predominantly black college have been haled as “funny and insightful.” The performance is free and will be held in Kresge Auditorium, near the IU Kokomo Library. Ratliff’s material is “more adult-oriented,” said Matt Troutman, campus programming coordinator. “Even though young adults may enjoy Clay’s show, parents may not want to bring their children to this kind of performance.” Guests to campus who do not have an IU Kokomo parking pass are asked to park in the lower level of the parking garage, located on the south end of campus. The performance is sponsored by Student Union Board. For more information call (765) 455-9203.
