Meet IU President-Elect McRobbie March 7
March 2, 2007
KOKOMO, Ind.—The public is invited to meet Indiana University’s new president elect, Michael A. McRobbie, at a reception on the IU Kokomo campus Wednesday, March 7. The reception will run from 4–5 p.m. in the Kelley Student Center.
The Trustees of Indiana University unanimously approved McRobbie’s appointment March 1, as the 18th president of the 187-year-old institution with eight campuses and more than 97,000 students. McRobbie will officially take over as president on July 1, 2007, succeeding Adam W. Herbert.
Currently the interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at IU Bloomington, McRobbie has been a senior administrator at IU for 10 years. With an education grounded in both philosophy and science, he came to IU in January 1997 as vice president for information technology and chief information officer. Six years later, he was given the additional responsibilities of vice president for research.
Persons without campus parking passes should follow the signs to visitor parking for the reception.
