IU Kokomo Green Week: Ecology Takes Center Stage

March 3, 2008

Kokomo, Indiana— Zero Emissions Research and Initiatives, information on waste management programs and resources available to students, presentations about water technologies for the home, community, and industry, as well as Systems Design Solutions for Indiana will be presented on the Indiana University Kokomo campus during Green Week, March 3-5. Co-sponsored by the Student Government Association, Student Union Board, and American Democracy Project, this weeks events are free and open to the public. The schedule of events is as follows:

Green Week Schedule

3/3/2008 Marla Vechey 12 noon-1 p.m., Kelley Student Center Commons (Cafeteria)-Marla will be giving a presentation on waste management programs and resources available to students. Free recycling bins will be available only to students and faculty who are interested.

3/3/2008 Nadia Roumie 5:30-6:30 p.m., Kelley Student Center Room KC130-Nadia will present the Inconvenient Truth presentation on Monday, March 3, at 5:30 p.m. Ms. Roumie is a recent graduate of Ball State University.

3/3/2008 Wendy Thansich 7-8 p.m., Kelley Student Center Room KC130-Wendy is the author of new book coming out in 2008 called "Stepping Stones Toward a Sustainable Indiana".

03/04/08 Marla Vechey 12-1 p.m., Kelley Student Center Room KC Commons (Cafeteria) -Marla will be giving a presentation on waste management programs and resources available to students.

03/04/08 Neal Bennett 6-7 p.m., Kresge Auditorium-Neal will be speaking about new water technologies for the home, community, and industry.

03/05/08 Brandon Pitcher 6-7 p.m., Kelley Student Center Room KC130

Brandon will be giving an introduction to ZERI (Zero Emissions Research and Initiatives) and Systems Design.
