Nurses Recognition Ceremony held May 8

KOKOMO, Ind.—Recent graduates of the Indiana University Kokomo School of Nursing were honored during a Recognition Ceremony Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. in Havens Auditorium. Some 98 candidates for the Associate of Science Nursing (A.S.N.) degree and 32 candidates for the Bachelor of Science Nursing (B.S.N.) degree received pins signifying their new professional standing. Dean of the School of Nursing Penny Cass, Ph.D., and IU Kokomo Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Stuart Green welcomed honorees and their guests. Class of 2003 representatives presented various parts of the program: Chad Davis, A.S.N., master of ceremonies; Megan Howell, B.S.N., mistress of ceremonies; Joyce Hollingsworth, R.N./B.S.N., invocation; Myra Pointer, L.P.N.-to-A.S.N., closing prayer. Nursing undergraduates who achieved high academic standing in 2002–2003 served as ushers. Carolyn Harlan, B.S.N., gave special recognition of those with families serving in the armed forces. A reception for graduates and their guests followed the ceremony in Alumni Hall. Jody Chandler, Carolyn Harlan, Joyce Hollingsworth, Kristine Kirkmeyer, Danna Moore, and Amber Pollard organized the Recognition Ceremony.
