Indiana University Kokomo M.B.A. program ranks among best

May 4, 2009

KOKOMO, Ind. – Indiana University Kokomo’s graduate School of Business has been ranked as a top graduate program in the U.S. News Media Group’s 2010 edition of America’s Best Graduate Schools, featured in the May issue of U.S. News and World Report magazine.

The 2010 America’s Best Graduate Schools is the most comprehensive listing of its kind.

“Our Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) classes are very collaborative in nature. You don’t just learn from the professor, but from everyone in the classroom,” said Linda Ficht, director of the M.B.A. at IU Kokomo, and assistant professor of business law. Ficht added that the diverse group of students, ranging from engineers, doctors, lawyers, and business owners, makes up the most valuable aspect of the program.

Faculty play a large part in the success of the M.B.A. program, Ficht said, noting that all are full-time doctorates who are actively researching and publishing in their fields of expertise.

“Our students are getting current information that’s not even out there yet because it is that professor’s own research,” she said. “This is a high value, high return program.”

The IU Kokomo M.B.A. program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), an association of educational institutions, businesses, and other organizations devoted to the advancement of higher education in management education. It is also the premier accrediting agency of collegiate business schools and accounting programs worldwide.

“For the past 20 years, prospective students have turned to U.S. News’s America’s Best Graduate Schools for reliable information on the full range of graduate school programs,” said Brian Kelly, editor of U.S. News and World Report.
