Explore planned giving for non-profits November 11

November 3, 2005

KOKOMO, Ind.—Learn how to begin or expand a planned giving program for your non-profit organization during a free lunchtime presentation Friday, November 11, at Indiana University Kokomo. Estacia Medlen Brandenburg, J.D., of the Indiana University Foundation will discuss the basics of planned giving and answer questions from noon–1:15 p.m. in the Kelley Student Center, Room 221.

Raised in Greentown and a graduate of Eastern High School, Brandenburg is assistant director of the IU Foundation's Office of Planned Giving.

IU Kokomo's Office of External Relations will provide beverages for the BYOBB (Bring Your Own Brown Bag) lunch. Food can be purchased in the Kelley Student Center cafeteria.

“Being able to rely on planned gifts to sustain operations and make new projects happen is something all non-profits want,” said Vice Chancellor for External Relations Paul F. Nowak, C.F.R.E. “But, knowing where to start a planned giving program, or how to balance planned giving with annual giving and your day-to-day work isn't easy.

“That's why IU Kokomo wants to offer the expertise of Estacia Medlen Brandenburg as a resource to our area's non-profit community.”

To attend the planned giving discussion, RSVP by Thursday, November 10, to Marcia Reynolds, Office of External Relations, at marcreyn@iuk.edu or (765) 455-9485.
