Travelogue plays at IU Kokomo November 28

November 17, 2005

KOKOMO, Ind.—Enjoy the music of Travelogue, presented free Monday, November 28, from 11:30 a.m.–12:45 p.m. in the Kelley Student Center Commons at Indiana University Kokomo. A student group, The Light and Truth Bible Studies, is sponsoring the concert, featuring Jon Sonnenberg on analog synthesizers and vocals.

Travelogue is “a Christian band that plays electronic pop music,” said Shawn Bowne of Kokomo. A computer technology major at Purdue University College of Technology Kokomo, Bowne is president of Light and Truth.

The band mostly plays local shows in Ohio and the surrounding areas including the Autobahn Festival, Bowne said. “Some groups to compare them to are The Human League and Kraftwerk.”

In a review of Travelogue's 2004 CD “Imaginary Hospitals,” Decapolis.com reviewer Mike Leech wrote, “Sonnenberg employs muted beats alongside his warm, gentle vocals to create a sound that, while grounded in electronics, feels extremely organic and personal. . . . He's got what it takes to create memorable and affecting techno music.”

The Light and Truth Bible Studies offer three student-led studies every week on campus, providing fellowship and training opportunities for faculty members and students. Contact kobstudy@iuk.edu for more information.

Persons without campus parking permits should follow signs to free visitor parking for this event.
