Grade school artists shine at IU Kokomo

KOKOMO, Ind.—Every year since it opened, the Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery has encouraged budding artists with an annual show of works by Howard County students in grades 1–6. The
11th Annual Elementary School Exhibition opens Sunday, November 26, and runs through Tuesday, December 12.
Schools and art teachers who have submitted student art for the 2006 exhibition include
Boulevard Elementary and Washington Elementary—Nancy Williams
Columbian Elementary and Elwood Haynes Elementary—Teresa Streza
Redeemer Lutheran School—Sue Allison, Suzanne Dunkin, Sue Johnson, Elaine Ponder, Cheryl Stoltenberg, and Kathy Tucker
Sts. Joan of Arc and Patrick Schools—Karen DeMoss, Erin Gilbert, Susan Jones, Janet Spencer
The IU Kokomo Art Gallery is located inside the Kelley Student Center. Gallery hours are Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.; Wednesdays, until 8 p.m.; and Saturdays, noon–4 p.m.; and Sundays, 1–5 p.m. Admission to all gallery exhibitions and activities is free.
The 11th Annual Elementary School Exhibition is funded in part by grants from the City of Kokomo Community Arts Commission, the Tippecanoe Arts Federation, the Indiana Arts Commission, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
