IU Kokomo School of Business receives McGowan Scholarship Award

November 27, 2007

Kokomo, Indiana—The McGowan Charitable Foundation has awarded the IU Kokomo School of Business a full-time M.B.A. tuition scholarship for up to $14,607 for the academic year 2008-09. This is the fifth consecutive award received by the School of Business. “The McGowan Charitable Fund was established to realize—and to enlarge—the magnificent potentials which Mr. McGowan foresaw in the future of the young, as well as the rewarding promises of medical research and the critical need to enhance the role of American business by providing scholastic assistance to promising students” (as per foundation Web site). The total amount the Charitable Foundation has committed since 2004-05 is $69,502. “This is significant as the Scholarship has made lasting impacts on the lives of Erin Wittemeyer (Alonzo), Rob Jones, Scott Voorhis, and Cynthia Heigl,” states Niranjan Pati, Ph.D.. Dean and professor of the School of Business.
