Three Kokomo Area Teachers Received Honorable Mention at 2007 Olin W. Davis Awards

Kokomo, Indiana—Three Kokomo area teachers received honorable mention during the 2007 Olin W. Davis Awards for Exemplary Teaching of Economics in Indiana. The presentation was made at the Indiana Council for Economic Education’s Annual Awards for Excellence Program on Friday, November 2, 2007 at The Indiana State House Capitol Rotunda and North Atrium. Recipients, Julia Christner of Darrough Chapel Elementary School, Kokomo, along with IU Kokomo graduates, Staci Eller, B.A. ’99, from Tri-Central Elementary School, Sharpsville, and Natalie Keck, B.A. ’90, also of Darrough Chapel Elementary School, Kokomo, were selected for their work in economics education with Professor of Education, Margo I. Sorgman, Ed.D., and Professor of Economics, Kathy Parkison, Ph.D., in addition to their professional expertise, teaching experience, and actions promoting economic education outside the classroom. These awards were sponsored by the Indiana Council for Economic Education and funded by Indiana Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Insurance.
