Notification of advanced registration appointments changed October 17, 2003
	KOKOMO, Ind.—Students continuing their studies at IU Kokomo in Spring Semester 2004 should look carefully at the mailing label on the schedule of classes they received earlier in October. They will find their registration appointment time printed above the address. Advanced registration by appointment takes place November 3–6. In the past, continuing students—those not taking classes at IU Kokomo for the first time—received a separate postcard or letter, notifying them of advanced registration appointments. Registrar Holly Hamilton said printing the appointment dates on the class schedules was designed “to streamline the process” for her office. Hamilton also noted that IU Kokomo no longer offers course registration via touch-tone phone. With the availability of registration via the Internet, use of the phone registration by IU Kokomo students has dropped off dramatically, Hamilton said. The entire IU system plans to discontinue touch-tone registration by next summer, she added. “We just did it earlier,” she said. Touch-tone service to pay student bills will continue through next summer, Hamilton said. Other important class-related dates include: November 7—Student orientation December 2—All fees due January 6, 2004—Student orientation January 6 and 7, 2004—Final registration for Spring Semester 2004 January 12, 2004—Spring classes begin Previous IU Kokomo students who do not have an appointment for continuing student registration may obtain one by calling the Office of the Registrar at (765) 455-9391.
