KOKOMO, Ind.—Indiana University hosts the 31st Annual Business Outlook and Public Policy Panel Discussion on Wednesday, November 12, at IU Kokomo. Top IU economists will analyze current national and state business conditions and predict who will be financial winners and losers in the coming year. Held in the Kelley Student Center, Room 130, the event starts with a 7:30 a.m. buffet breakfast. Admission is $12. Morton Marcus returns in his popular role as moderator and sometimes tongue-in-cheek commentator on the forecast. In July, Marcus retired after 18 years as director of the Kelley School of Business’ Indiana Business Research Center in Bloomington. The center’s new director Jerry Conover will be part of the Business Outlook panel. Conover returned to his native Indiana from Northern Arizona University, where he directed a similar business research program and taught marketing. Other panelists will include IU Kokomo Associate Professor of Economics Kathy Parkison, Ph.D., as well as faculty members of the Kelley School of Business: Andreas Hauskrecht, Ph.D., clinical assistant professor of business economics and public policy; Gil Viets, Ph.D., clinical professor of accounting and information systems; and Willard Witte, Ph.D., associate professor of economics. The Economic Outlook Panel is sponsored by the IU Kokomo School of Business, the Kelley School of Business, the IU Alumni Club of Howard-Tipton Counties, the IU Kokomo Center for Economic Education, Kokomo-Howard County Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of Kokomo. Contact Diane Stout, (765) 455-9465, for tickets; reservations must be received by November 5.
