‘One-Stop Shopping’ to benefit child care center

October 10, 2003

Products usually sold through catalogs and home parties will be available at an October 22 “One-Stop Shopping” fund raising event for the IU Kokomo Little Learners Child Care Center. Vendors will staff display tables in Alumni Hall of the Kelley Student Center from 4 to 7 p.m. The campus and community are welcome to attend.

Businesses signed up thus far include Stampin UP (craft stamps), Discovery Toys, Weekenders (clothing), Avon (cosmetics, skin care and jewelry), Mary Kay Cosmetics , Tastefully Simple, (gourmet soups, dips, desserts, and convenience foods), Pampered Chef (cooking items, pans and bakeware), Charms (for Italian bracelets), Tupperware, Home Interiors, Home and Garden (decorating), Stik ees (window clings), and Candles from Little Candle Opera. Most of the vendors will take orders for goods on October 22, rather than sell items on a cash-and-carry basis. Purchases should be delivered in time for holiday giving.

“It is a great time to do Christmas and holiday shopping or even book your own party,” said Pamela Richard, director for the day care center. Proceeds will be used to purchase toys and equipment for the non-profit child care center, which serves children of IU Kokomo students and employees.
