Talbot becomes IU Kokomo Trustee Liaison

KOKOMO, Ind.—Sue H. Talbot of Bloomington has been named IU Trustee Liaison to the Indiana University Kokomo campus. First elected to the Board of Trustees by Indiana University alumni in 2001 and re-elected in 2004, Talbot chairs the board’s Academic Affairs and University Policies Committee. Her term of service extends through June 30, 2007.
Talbot received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1966, her master’s degree in 1971, and her doctorate in education in 1992. She was honored as Indiana Teacher of the Year in 1978 and has been name an IU Outstanding Education Alumnus and IU Gertrude Rich Outstanding Woman Alumnus. Talbot served as president of the Indiana University Alumni Association in 1991. She has taught as an adjunct instructor at IU Columbus, IU Bloomington and Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. In 1991, Talbot became founding director for Hoosiers for Higher Education, serving in that post until her retirement in 2000. She was a special assistant for education to Indiana Governor Robert Orr. She has also worked as a strategic planning consultant to public school corporations.
