KOKOMO, Ind.—Singer and children’s songwriter Shana Banana will perform in a free show at Indiana University Kokomo’s Kresge Auditorium on Saturday, October 23. The 4 p.m. performance is sponsored by the Student Union Board. For more information, contact the IU Kokomo Office of Student Activities at (765) 455-9203. Her original repertoire includes “Toothbrush Rock,” “I Want To Be a Dinosaur,” “If I Ate My House,” and many more educational and silly songs that kids, parents and grandparents love. Performing at major festivals and performing arts centers across the United States, Shana Banana has earned many national awards including Parents’ Choice, NAPPA, Kids First, and the Just Plain Folks Award for Best Children’s Song of 2003. She has two first-round Grammy nominations for her CDs Music and Fun for Kids and Song In My Pocket. Shana Banana offers outreach programs at various children’s hospitals as part of her long-term mission to make a positive difference in the lives of children everywhere.
