Princeton Reviews, AACSB praise School of Business

October 23, 2006

KOKOMO, Ind.—Good news comes in twos for Indiana University Kokomo’s School of Business. For the second consecutive year, the school has been cited in the Princeton Reviews’ Best 282 Business Schools 2007 edition, published by Random House. Schools profiled in the book earned high ratings from their own Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) students, in a survey regarding academics, student life, and admissions and career placement services.

As a second honor, IU Kokomo’s Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) chapter received an Exemplary Chapter award at the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business Mid-continent conference held in Chicago October 1–3. As part of the award, BGS, a business honorary society, will contribute a $500 student scholarship. The campus will match that amount to create a $1,000 scholarship. “This is the second exemplary chapter award we have received since a BGS chapter was instituted on our campus in November 2001,” said Dean Niranjan Pati, Ph.D.

Pati called the Princeton Reviews’ selection “an external validation” of the School of Business’s quality. “The School of Business makes the M.B.A. degree valuable for our students and the students valuable for employers,” Pati said.

In Best 282 Business Schools, surveyed IU Kokomo M.B.A. students described the faculty as “excellent instructors with teaching awards . . . extremely knowledgeable and very eager to help students.” IU Kokomo’s program was described by those surveyed as “attuned to the regional industrial base of north central Indiana and well designed “to meet the overall aspiration of the employees of local companies.”
