Gallery stages first IU Kokomo Student Exhibition

KOKOMO, Ind.—Drawings, photography, sculpture, and more will be featured November 5–19 in the Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery’s first exhibition devoted solely to the work of the campus’ students.
Previously, art produced in campus classes has been showcased in the Art Gallery’s front windows and in other campus locations. But, Lecturer in Fine Arts and Gallery Director Gregory Steel wanted to offer the full venue to show art created by any current or former IU Kokomo student. Steel hopes to see the exhibition become an annual event.
As of press time, the following had submitted works (Artists are identified by residence, academic major, and their chosen art media.):
Bloomington: Summer Paul, studio art major at IU Bloomington; colored pencil.
Galveston: Tiffany Morrison, nursing major, oil.
Kokomo: Jan-Ember Bartolomé, biology major, mixed media; Monique Ethier, mixed media sculpture; Ed Faunce, humanities major, mixed media using stained glass; Heather Hannum, education major; reed (basket) and photography; Michelle Harris, General Studies major, charcoal; Terra O’Donnell, General Studies major, charcoal.
Logansport: Lisa K. Miller, biology major, watercolor and color pencil.
The gallery will host an opening reception for the IU Kokomo Student Art Exhibition on Wednesday, November 8, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Admission to all gallery exhibitions and events is free.
