Indiana University Office of Career Services Has It All

Kokomo, IN—“The Office of Career Services at Indiana University Kokomo is a full service office that assists students and alumni through every phase of the professional development process. We are also pleased to be able to offer many of the same amenities to members of the communities that are served through IU Kokomo,” stresses Julie Diesman, Manager of Career Services. By offering career counseling, planning, and job search assistance, the Indiana University Kokomo Office of Career Services is assisting Students and Alumni in the conquest of their employment and occupational goals. All the tools needed to get careers started are included in the extensive resources at the disposal of the OCS staff.

Students and Alumni might choose to browse through the career library, which includes books and magazines about careers; annual reports from various companies and organizations; videos on career topics; and graduate school information. The University also offers a Basic Career Planning course designed to present career options.

Additionally, tips on career changes, such as résumé building and how to interview as well as information about current employment trends, salaries, options, and possible career interests, are available to students, alumni, and the communities served by IU Kokomo.

Counseling and computer-based assessments such as educational and career-planning software SIGI 3 and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality inventory are available to people considering attending IU Kokomo. Other opportunities available to students are a student Employment Program, Campus Recruiting, and Internships through the Office of Continuing Studies.

Furthermore, students and alumni of Indiana University Kokomo and Purdue University College of Technology at Kokomo may activate a paper or online credential file. IU Kokomo OCS has contracted with MonsterTrak to be its online credential service. MonsterTrak specializes in listing entry-level professional opportunities. As a part of the credential file set-up, the Office of Career Services will keep copies of résumés and letters of recommendation on file, which can be sent to prospective employers at the student's request.
