The IU Kokomo Art Gallery Welcomes Artist Deborah Boardman

Kokomo, Indiana—The IU Kokomo Art Gallery welcomes Artist Deborah Boardman to campus. Boardman will exhibit her work, inspired by natural lines of energy, and the history of the Miami Nation of Indiana. Boardman’s In the Flux of the Matter will be at the IU Kokomo Art Gallery, October 19 and running through November 18, 2007. Constructed of recycled cardboard, the exhibit will be a hybrid French chapel and Miami Indiana longhouse will accompany an elegiac animation. In addition, Boardman will show her lush, large-scale paintings, a cast glass sculpture, other representations, and artifacts that allude to loss of the land, the desecration of burial grounds and the changing of waterways to accommodate agriculture.
