AIM day educates prospective students about IU Kokomo

October 30, 2008

Kokomo, Indiana – Calling all high school seniors and juniors – mark your calendar for Tuesday, Nov. 11, for Academic Interest and Majors (AIM) Day to learn more about Indiana University Kokomo and all it has to offer.

AIM Day, which will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is a campus visit experience designed to introduce prospective students to specific academic programs, the campus and its students. The day-long program partners high school students within their area of interest, and is packed with important information to help students make the best college decision.

“AIM Day is a great opportunity to learn, first-hand, about all the programs and degrees offered at IU Kokomo. It’s a fun and interactive way to get introduced to the campus,” said Reeta Piirala-Skoglund, assistant director of admissions. “IU Kokomo offers more than 40 academic programs. We want to make sure a prospective student can explore any program and have all their questions answered.”

High school seniors and juniors will have the opportunity to chat with current students, meet with academic advisors, and visit classrooms among other things. While the day is designed mainly for the students, parents are more than welcome to accompany their student.

Reservations can be made by contacting the Office of Admissions at (765) 455-9217 or toll-free at (888) 875-4485, or by registering online at www.iuk.edu/VIP.

Indiana University Kokomo serves a seven county, primary service area in north central Indiana. The campus offers more than 40 academic programs including four graduate degrees.
