JIPAD Journal gives international access to students, and faculty at Indiana University Kokomo
October 31, 2008
Kokomo, Indiana – Students and faculty at Indiana University Kokomo will have first-hand access to international research through a public policy journal now housed on campus. The Journal of International Politics and Development (JIPAD), published twice a year, is one of the most established titles in the critical new field of sustainable development.
Robert Dibie, Ph.D., professor of public affairs and dean of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA), recently completed negotiations with Babcock University Nigeria to house JIPAD here. In its recent meeting the Editorial Board of the journal unanimously voted in support of Dibie hosting the journal in IU Kokomo because of his excellent research record and the outstanding job he did when he served as guest editor for two issues of the journal.
“The journal will open more avenues for IU Kokomo faculty to consult for business and professional institutions around the state, nationally, and internationally,” said Dibie, who will solicit articles from a wide spectrum of academic disciplines. “It is also beneficial to IU Kokomo students and faculty to have access to and publish in a peer-reviewed journal recognized around the world.”
The mission of JIPAD is to advance scientific research, economic and social development, and the evaluation of public policies to enhance the administration of sustainable development goals. JIPAD also promotes humanitarian policies around the world. The journal advances the preparation of scholars and individuals for interdisciplinary careers as well as enabling current and future public leaders to develop skills necessary to address challenges posed in government, administration in nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), governance, policymaking and implementation, and organizational effectiveness.
JIPAD is jointly published by SPEA and the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Babcock University. The journal publishes articles that report original investigations and contribute new knowledge and understanding to the fields of public management, business, and related interdisciplinary issues. It publishes original, innovative, and timely articles on research and practice from a broad array of professions, including public policy, economics, public administration, political science, management, ethics, environmental issues, social welfare, gender issues, decision science, and health care. In addition to peer-reviewed articles, the journal also publishes book reviews, comments and reports from the field, and summaries of related research.
