Comedian Michael Palascak, Wabash native, to visit Indiana University Kokomo for night of laughs

October 8, 2008

Living at home in your 20’s is all it’s cracked up to be, and comedian Michael Palascak, a Wabash native, will share his first-hand experiences with anyone who cares to listen at Indiana University Kokomo. This free, public event, will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. in the Kelley Student Center Commons.

Palascak (pronounced Pal-a-sack) shares hilarious, relatable moments about living at home in the Midwest with his parents and avoiding as much “real world” responsibility as possible. He has been heard on The Bob and Tom Radio Show and The Ryan and Kevin Manno program.

According to his Web site, www.michaelpalascak.com, he really likes to make people laugh – mostly because it keeps them from asking why he still lives at home with his parents. Most recently, he performed at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. He also performed at Caesar’s Palace in The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas and was the winner of HBO’s Lucky 21 Stand-up Contest. In addition, he won the Chicago region of Comedy Central’s Open Mic Fight.

Having trained at The Second City in Chicago, IO, and Annoyance, he can also be found on the sketch comedy circuit. Most recently, he debuted his one-person sketch show in Chicago, “Pursuing Happiness: A bunch of scenes about people that moved out of their parents' house, got a real job, and got married. Performed by a guy who didn't.”

This event is sponsored by the Student Union Board. Persons without campus parking permits should follow signs to visitor parking.

Indiana University Kokomo serves a seven county, primary service area in north central Indiana. The campus offers more than 40 academic programs including four graduate degrees.
