Flu shots available at Wellness Fair

Flu and pneumonia shots, as well as health screenings, will be available at IU Kokomo’s Fourth Annual Wellness Fair. The public is invited to attend the event on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Kelley Student Center, room 130.
In addition, major health care providers in Howard County will be on hand to provide educational materials to those who attend. This year, IU Kokomo welcomes the Visiting Nurse Service, who will be administering the flu and pneumonia vaccinations.
Costs of the shots are: Flu shot (3 yrs and up) $25; Flu Shot (6-35 mo.) $15; Pneumonia Shot $45; Flu Mist (2-49 yrs- Thimerosal-Free) $35. Also available on a limited basis are the flu shot ˝ dose Thimerosal-Free (6035 mo. For $35 and the flu shot full does Thimerosal-Free (3 yrs and up) for $40.
The VNS administers shots to children six months and older. Children under the age of 18 will require the presence and/or written consent of a parent or legal guardian. If assistance is needed, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs by contacting the Office of Affirmative Action at 455-9529.
