“Discover . . . IU Kokomo” during adult/graduate student preview
September 22, 2005
KOKOMO, Ind.—Adults who have thought about returning to school to complete an undergraduate or higher degree can “Discover . . . IU Kokomo” Tuesday, October 11, during a 4–7 p.m. open house.
“We are inviting adults to discover their educational options, their potential, and their futures at Indiana University Kokomo,” said open house coordinator Lori Collins of the Division of Continuing Studies. Representatives from all academic divisions will be on hand in the Kelley Student Center to answer questions during the event. A presentation on university admission and financial aid will be offered at 5 and 6 p.m. Guided tours of the campus begin at 4:30 p.m. and will run each half hour.
Admission and parking are free. Attendees registering by October 3 receive a free light dinner during the open house. “We know that adult learners divide their time between many responsibilities—work, family, other commitments,” Collins said. “That's why we want to offer them a light meal to enjoy while they're learning about IU Kokomo.”
The campus' ACCELerated Evening College program also focuses on making the best use of students' time. The program condenses time spent in the classroom and makes learning schedules flexible with online instruction. Information on ACCELerated Evening College, on four graduate degree programs, and on new certificate programs geared to specific careers will be available on October 11.
To register for the open house and to reserve your light dinner, visit www.iuk.edu/openhouse, send an e-mail to cbarcher@iuk.edu, or call (800) 991-1459 by October 3. Persons without campus parking permits should follow signs to visitor parking for this event.
