Welcome to Indiana University Kokomo and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA). SPEA is committed to providing high quality education for all our students and constituencies. Our program offerings include the master of public management (MPM) degree and bachelor degrees in public affairs, criminal justice with concentration in environmental science and policy, public management and organizational leadership.  SPEA also offers specialized courses and certificate programs such as the graduate certificate in public management, certificate in homeland security and emergency management, certificate in public safety, certificate in correctional management and supervision.

The SPEA faculty, secretary, academic advisor, advisory board members and I consider it an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve our students.  We are committed to helping our students receive a quality education that will equip them for the challenges of public management, sustainable development, criminal justice, environmental science, and knowledge-based community leaders of the 21st century. Growing the skills of SPEA students, public managers, and nonprofit practitioners, regardless of their age or professional aspirations is absolutely essential to me. It is critical for future and current public leaders to learn how to lead at all levels and at all ages. My goal for SPEA at IU Kokomo is for the School to have one of the finest public policy and management programs in Indiana that reach out to the campus, the state, the nation and international needs.

Our degree programs are taught by excellent faculty members, representing some of the leading public management, public policy, environmental policy, and criminal justice experts in the world. SPEA faculty and dean are active in consulting, researching and community service nationally and internationally. SPEA is guided by a plan for excellence with the overall goal of providing an outstanding learning environment.

Further, the SPEA academic advisor will assist you in developing your degree study plans, preparing your semester schedule, and helping you adjust to university life. We hope that you will explore our website to learn more about SPEA at Indiana University Kokomo, and how we may help you achieve your career goals.
