Appropriate Use of Communications Media
While the benefits of increasing accessibility to the Internet and on-line services for students, faculty, and staff are obvious, all University users are reminded that they are governed by University policy as to the appropriate use of this communications and learning tool. Indiana University Appropriate Technology Use Policies are available through University IT Policy Office.
In conjunction with this policy and other policies that govern student and employee conduct, the campus community is reminded that Indiana University has zero tolerance for the misuse of any communications media - print or electronic, individually or mass distributed, if such use results in communications that are harassing, racist or in any way threatening to other individuals on or off campus. This type of behavior will be promptly investigated, and should perpetrators of such acts be identified as students, they will face consequences under the terms of the Student Conduct Code, which governs student behavior. Employees will be subject to disciplinary action under the terms of the applicable agreement or contract under which they are employed.
