The Guide for Creating Official Web Sites at IU
Kokomo
This site is designed to assist Web developers at
IU Kokomo in creating and maintaining official Web sites based on
approved IU Kokomo Web standards. Before
using the tools and information on this site, you should understand the basics of Web
development and the elements of good design, and have access to a
computer containing the software necessary to create Web sites. You
should also have a Web directory account that allows you to access
your department's Web directory on the server.
As a strategic initiative at IU Kokomo, Web development falls under the
general responsibility of the Web Manager in collaboration with two
departments: Office of Communications and Marketing, and Information
Technology. These departments also share responsibility for ensuring
broad compliance with IU Kokomo Web standards and policies. If you have
questions related to Web development at IU Kokomo, contact the Web Manager.
The Office of Communications and Marketing is working to create a
cohesive, sustainable, user-centered Web presence. IU Kokomo takes
seriously its ongoing responsibility to its Web constituents. Therefore,
IU Kokomo takes seriously its Web standards and compliance with these
standards. Web designers should be aware that a failure to comply with
IU Kokomo Web standards may result in removal of their Web pages/sites
from the servers, and discontinuation of their access and
responsibilities for Web sites. If you are undertaking a new Web
development project, you should contact the
IU Kokomo Helpdesk early in
your project to ensure a smooth process of site development.
