Bachelor of Science in Education

About

Does the thought of working alongside children all day make your heart sing? Is it tough to imagine doing anything other than working with kids? You need an elementary education degree from Indiana University Kokomo.

The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education program is known for high expectations, field experiences starting in your very first semester, and an environment built on the support of your cohort of peers and one-on-one work with professors just as passionate about teaching as you are.

As you progress through the program, you will connect and grow with a close-knit group of future teachers from your first semester through graduation. During your time here, you'll gain a variety of diverse field experiences in a variety of real-world settings, like one of the school districts in our CEP, to help prepare you to take over your own classroom.

Upon completion of this program, you will be eligible to apply for licensure in elementary education to teach grades kindergarten through 6.

This is a two-year plan for degree completion. It is only for students who transfer to IU Kokomo from Ivy Tech Community College or Vincennes University with an associate degree on the Indiana Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP) plan.
