The Accessibility Certificate is designed for faculty members wishing to increase their expertise in the area of disability needs and services. Upon completion of the certificate, faculty members will be better able to serve the needs of students with disabilities. Items may be completed in any order. Some of the advanced items may be completed while still working on the Basic Certificate; however, the Basic Certificate is a prerequisite to finishing the Advanced Certificate.
Advanced Certificate Required Items:
- Three additional options from Accessibility Choices list.
- Design one assignment using the Transparent Teaching and Learning Practices Model. (Faculty that participated in the faculty-student mentoring program during the 2017-2018 school year can still count the mentee experience as a requirement. The mentee participants will only need to complete two Accessibility Choices to complete the Advanced Certificate requirements.)
Check the campus calendar and CTLA calendar for dates and times of events and workshops throughout the year.
- Attend at least one of the following workshops, offered one time each year:
- Universal Design Workshop
- Assistive Technology Workshop
- Advanced Assistive Technology Workshop
- Attend Brown Bag Accessibility Discussion luncheon, offered each semester.
- Participation in the lunch discussion during the Transition from High School: College Pathways Luncheon event in the fall.
- Participate in one of the Midterm Meltdown activities happening each fall and spring.
- Participate in one of the Disability Awareness activities.
